Life with Pat
Pat vs. The Big Black Beast!
By Lina Musick
September 1998

During one of our early morning walks Patrick found what he thought to be a Ferocious Beast standing guard at the other side of the yard. There it was Big, Mean and Black! It had two long horns on either side of its head. We could tell it was ready to attack just by the look in those two oversized eyes which were focused on us as we walked along.

Although Patrick was still just a pup, he braced himself against the attack that was sure to come. Patrick’s hair stood up as he arched his back and then pawed at the ground. He growled, showing his sharp teeth and then proceeded to bark with all his might! This little pup stood as tall as he could. Patrick wasn’t going to let this beast get the best of him, his sister, or his owner!

Patrick made such a fuss that the Beast was overcome by fear and froze in his tracks. With all of Patrick’s barking and stomping the beast dare not move one inch until we were safely out of sight. It knew it had met its match in this brave pup.

As we turned to leave I glance over my shoulder and noticed the name of this beast boldly printed across his chest…Kawasaki.

Patrick walked a little taller and felt a little bigger for having kept the beast at bay. Once again he had protected his loved ones from the dangers of the dark.
