My Life's Painting
By: Lina Musick 2002
While meditating on my Life’s Painting I made a wish that the Lord would “white-wash” my canvas. I wanted to start over with a clean white canvas for my life’s painting. There were to many dark colors, too much black….which represented painful lessons and mistakes in my life.

Then the Lord reminded me that the dark colors of my painting were for contrast to bring out the beauty in the lighter and brighter colors. As with oil paintings the dark colors could be painted over with the brighter color, thus adding life and contrast to what was once a dark corner of my painting. The dark colors should not be ignored nor should they be blotted out entirely.

By using the proper strokes of the brush all of the colors come together to create a masterpiece.

FYI -
As a bit of clarification: The dark colors mentioned in “My Life’s Painting” refer to events and mistakes in my life, and not to sin. God does wash away our sins, but not the events and lessons learned from them.
