Hannie’s Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
My Grandma's recipe
Remember those yummy cookies? Well, just in case you were looking for the recipe.... here it is. Hope you enjoy it.

2 ½ cups Oatmeal
2 cups Sugar
½ cup Cocoa
½ cup Milk
1 stick Butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla
½ to 1 cup Pecans or Walnuts (optional)

Mix sugar & cocoa well.
Add milk
Use medium sauce pan on top of stove
Cook over low heat until softball stage
Cook an additional 3-4 minutes
Remove from heat
Add vanilla, butter, and nuts
Add oatmeal (last)
Drop out on buttered surface as cookies
Or spread out on buttered cookie sheet, let cool & cut into squares.

Note: if you use peanut butter in place of cocoa,
Use 2/3-cup peanut butter (to be added after softball stage).
